Wednesday, April 30th, 2014
Location: Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry
848 Lake Street Oak Park, IL 60301
The Feinstein Challenge comes at a particularly opportune time of the year. Springtime is traditionally the leanest time for donations at food pantries, yet, it is a time of intense need. Especially on the heals of a frigid winter.
Now is your chance to make a difference. All donations made to Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry in March and April go towards the Feinstein Challenge. Make a Donation or Schedule a Food and Fund Drive today.
Love a CHALLENGE? So do we. In fact, this spring Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry has one million reasons to love a challenge.
So why A MILLION reasons? Each spring philanthropist Alan Shawn Feinstein challenges food agencies across America to collect as many food items and cash donations as possible. To spur donations, Feinstein donates $1 million dollars to feed the hungry. Those funds are divided proportionally among competing food pantries based on the total number of donations (monetary and food donations) during the months of March and April.
People in our community are hungry. Last year there were over 40,000 “reasons” for your help—that’s how many people the Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry served in 2013.
Our challenge, with your help, is to make 2014 our best year yet! Last year an incredible $102,094 and 24,750 food items were dontaed in response to the Feinstein Challenge.
Register your Food and Fund Drive or click the Donate Now button to make a monetary donation. Your food and monetary donation will help Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry get more of Feinstein’s million dollars!
