Hunger Action Month

.

September is Hunger Action Month.

Every September the Feeding America network of food banks reach out and ask Americans to take action to fight hunger in their community, all month long. Hunger Action Month is YOUR opportunity to join a movement that has a real and lasting impact on our effort to feed more Americans than ever before.

There are a lot of ways to get involved with Hunger Action Month. Check out the links below and our local Hunger Action Month Calendar to see what you can do.

SPOONTEMBER
Share a ‘spoon selfie’ or video balancing a spoon on your nose - a utensil that is most often used to prepare and provide food for others.
Challenge friends and family to join the movement to generate awareness of the 1 in 6 adults who may not know where they’ll find their next meal.

SNAP Challenge
During Hunger Action Month, take the SNAP Challenge and walk in the shoes of more than 1 million men, women and children in Cook County who receive SNAP assistance. 1 in 6 adults in our community are forced to make grocery choices on a limited budget, finding it difficult to avoid hunger, afford nutritious food and stay healthy with too few resources.
